Workshop at the nursing school in the Kaplan Hospital

I was glad to lecture on the opening day of the course on senses at the
nursing school in the Kaplan Hospital in Rehovot.

I hereby enclose the feedback I received from Sheri Meirovitch – the courses coordinator, and that of several students who attended my lecture.

On the opening day of the course on senses that deals with attending to a disabled patient in one or more of his senses, we invited to our nursing school “Kaplan Campus” Mrs. Lili Goldwein.

Lili is an outstanding and impressive lady who has blindness, assisted by a charming guide dog named Zita. Lili arrived to lead the “Audio Service” workshop for the nursing students. This workshop deals with accessing medical and nursing services for blind and visually impaired patients.

The workshop took place at the end of a studying day entirely dedicated to eye diseases and the medical and nursing treatment for those illnesses, and it was the climax of that day.

Lili leads the workshop in an experiencing way of the style “What you see from here you cannot see from the far,”meaning that sometimes one must enter the shoes of another person to experience the challenges of the blind.

Lili provides an outstanding service for disabled people and for those with vision impairment.

All of us received practical tools for our encounter as attendants, and we left with important and valued messages for life in general.

I want to thank dear Lili sincerely, wish her good health down the road and well done, and continue to spread her important message.

Sincerely,

Sheri Meirovitch – Senses Course Coordinator, Kaplan Campus

Kaplan Hospital.

“Following the workshop, I attended Yesterday with Mrs. Lili Goldwein, I believe I implemented important tools in communicating with impaired vision persons, which is important in our profession and life in general. In addition, it was interesting to glance at this population’s life and conduct.”

“I attended Lili Goldwein’s workshop on the subject “Audio Service” for medical teams yesterday. Lili Goldwin is An amazing woman with an unusually cheerful outlook toward life; everyone can learn from her the correct outlook on life in general and when providing service for people with impaired vision. She opened a hatch into a world with which we are less familiar in moving and a very practical manner. This workshop is significant for every service provider, particularly for medical teams. The initiative is welcomed and important, and Lili is indeed an unusual and special person.”

“Following the workshop, I attended yesterday with Mrs. Lili Goldwein, I obtained cognizance regarding my professional life and my personal attitude towards blind persons. Accessibility constituted a significant part of my professional life in the past, but I have never been exposed to the content of providing accessibility for the blind.

It was exciting and inspiring listening to a woman that laughs about every demanding situation she faced in her life. Many thanks for the opportunity to participate a once in a lifetime workshop and to get to know such a charming woman, with a bonus, the dog Zita.”
